Safer
The street wardens are in radio contact with shops, the police and the cctv control centre - an important fast-response network that helps to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour during the main shopping hours within the town centre.
The wardens’ high profile uniformed patrols not only serve as a highly effective deterrent to criminals and trouble-makers, but also provides a reassuring presence to all users of the town centre. They are also often called to assist in the search for lost children seperated from their parents on town centre shopping trips.

Cleaner
Litter, graffiti, dog fouling, abandoned cars, damaged paving and piles of illegally dumped rubbish are now promptly reported and monitored by the street wardens, who liaise with Great Yarmouth Borough Council, Norfolk County Council Highways and the Police to ensure that the town centre remains a clean and attractive place to work and shop.

Friendlier
As well as being the town centre’s problem-solvers, Great Yarmouth’s street wardens are a mine of information that is well-tapped by visitors to the
town centre. Friendly, approachable and first aid trained, they are often the first point of contact for people seeking directions or requiring help in an emergency.
